Betty and barney hill3/22/2023 I'm honestly not sure what any of that means, but I am not sure that it's even related to the event. As he's thinking about it more, the condition worsens. The fact that the symptoms manifested more strongly after he started talking about the incident to the hypnotherapist does support this. Especially if the klan people did in fact check out the dude's wang for some fucked up experiment shit, he might have had some specific concerns about it that fueled the psychosomatic symptoms. When you suffer trauma you can imagine health conditions that manifest in a similar way to a placebo. Regarding the warts it was explained by the doctors that diagnosed him - Psychosomatic symptoms. Regarding the ambush, could be that they stopped in a town somewhere and people followed them, or it may have been a patrol that stopped them and brought them to some klan members. The earring that was returned to Betty could've also been a threat to shut them up. I mean confronting policemen is kind of dangerous. If this is police or klan stuff, that very well could be the reason why they didn't want to talk about it to people. Remember what one of the kidnappers say: Nobody will believe you. The trauma memory could be partially made up. And it also doesn't explain the magnet stuff on the car and the warts, which seem to be confirmed details? So in that respect some MK Ultra experimental shit seems to fit better with the story but just sounds less plausible because what would be the point of it. And also how did a bunch of racists know where they'd be to ambush them in the middle of the night (if this was cops instead maybe they'd be patrolling I guess). The problems with this theory is that it seems pretty detached from what they actually seem to describe happened and if it was a trauma memory it's weird that both of them settled on the same thing. It also makes sense with them being polite and talking to the white lady while having to drag Barney out of the car. If it was the police that would explain some of the details like their car being chased and the lights, and if it was racists and they were wearing klan hoods that might also explain why they perceived them as looking more alien. This was my thought at the end too, since I don't buy that it was a complete fabrication and clearly they were attacked by someone. Explains why the brunt of the trauma is on Barney, it explains why they wouldn't want to talk about it as well as why their minds would make up a cover story for it all, nobody would want to believe a reality where humans are capable of stuff that they've gone through.Īnd the doctors who said that a lot of the later health related conditions were psychosomatic, I think they were right.Īs to what exactly happened did they do to them? I don't know and I don't really want to speculate. But in this case it may have actually been klan members and what happens is essentially a lynching that they survive/escape from. It's an interracial couple going down the road, getting stopped by another car, the buzz they feel and the sub-conscious feelings Barney expresses, the "Act normal", "stay calm and everything will be fine" it all feels like an encounter with the police. It is definitely monsters, but of the human kind. No, I don't believe it's aliens or the government or other-wordly stuff. So I could be entirely wrong on this but here's my theory of what may have happened.
